New Mexico Sunset - March 2020
This was painted from Lost Sky Ranch in central New Mexico. This small work has the spirit of a plein air painting but because of the fleeting nature of the light it’s a studio painting completed the next morning from memory and a photograph. My wife and I moved to New Mexico in January of 2020 and started making a point of watching the sun set together each evening. Every sunset is different and special. I’d like to paint them all but this one seemed to stand out.

A note about displayed images. I take great care in the reproduction of original art. However, these images have been greatly reduced in size for display on the internet. Also, computer monitors vary in quality and calibration. The result is that while what you see here is a good representation of the photo or painting, the original may look slightly different. In almost every case, the original photo or painting will look better than what you see here. In any case, if you’re not absolutely satisfied the work can be returned for a full refund.
